As you will find by browsing this website, we make a lot of different styles, and offer an incredible range of material combinations. We make our shoes to order in our factory in Milton Keynes, England and are one of few manufacturers still offering footwear that is hand made in England. As we make our shoes to order, we offer a lot more than we can fit on this website! If you find any style on here that you'd prefer on another heel, in another width or even in a material combination that you might see on another style, then please let us know.
Send us an email at
sales@ids-danceshoes.co.uk and one of our sales team will discuss how we can make more tailored styles to suit your preferences. If you have your own material, then we can even make a shoe using that if you'd like a shoe that matches an particular outfit. The opportunites are endless with International Dance Shoes, just email us to find out more.
SATINS
The satin we use is pretty hard wearing, so there is little fraying. You should do all you can to avoid getting these shoes wet, this could damage the satin a little. If you order shoes in White Satin, then you can dye the material. In terms of cleaning, be careful what you use, as some products may be too strong. We’d recommend using a white spirit solution that is diluted to 50/50 with water, this should be fine.
CALF/LEATHERS
Calf/Leather is easy to take care of. It is recommended that you treat the shoe with a suitable shoe polish to preserve the condition of the shoe. You can use the shoe cream we offer on our accessories page to cover up any scuffs or scratches you may get. You can find this cream by clicking
here.
PATENT
The use of a silicon based product such as Vaseline is ideal to prevent the material from cracking. This is also prefect to reduce the risk of scuffing and sticking of the shoes. You should apply this before and after wear, and when the material appears dry.
FABRIC
For materials such as Nubuck, the use of a suitable spray to clean and maintain the shoe’s good condition is advised. Be sure to keep fabrics away from the wet and be careful not to exert any extreme pressure on materials through intense brushing and so on.
HEELS
To preserve the condition of the heels it is recommended that you wear heel protectors. You might find that some competitions rule that you must wear heel protectors when dancing. Our heel protectors are rubber based and protect the heel from damage as well as maintain the condition of the floor. You can view our regular heel protectors by clicking
here whilst you can also view our suede based heel protectors by clicking
here, these are for dancers you prefer a bit less friction to those that are rubber.
For worn down or damaged heel tips, we offer replacement pairs. These can be found
here.
SOLE
Avoid wearing your dance shoes outside, and do all you can to avoid getting them wet. Try to avoid rough surfaces too, this is all because the soft suede sole is especially made for use on a smooth indoor floor, such as the dance floor. To clean the sole and maintain its condition, you can use one of our specially designed shoe brushes, which can be found by clicking
here. Using this brush can also improve the friction of the sole. Another ideal accessory that can help increase friction is our ‘Non-Skid Powder’. This can reduce skidding and is widely used by dancers of all types, click
